Genealogy of Jesus through Mary

Gal 4:3-5 In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. (4) But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, (5) to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.

We were slaves of the darkness. Slaves to sin. We were crushed under the weight of God’s law, finding in it condemnation. But in the fullness of time God sent His son, born of woman…

In our anticipation of Christmas, consider this incredible, miraculous gift. God the Son stepped into humanity. Not just in some poetic or abstract way. God took on flesh, real DNA passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years. He came to help us. He did that by first coming to be one of us. As I consider this I just rejoice with humble awe.
